November 2010
We had a whirlwind travel schedule in October. It was hard to leave Carmel but we enjoyed the next leg of our trip so much that Carmel became a great memory. We drove down Highway One and stayed overnight in Santa Barbara before reaching our final destination in California: New Port Beach. We enjoyed being tourists walking the beaches, eating at great restaurants and doing a lot of window shopping. We basically did a lot of relaxing and took advantage when it was raining to watch the baseball playoffs. It was then off to Dallas where dear friends invited us to a birthday party at a Honky Tonk. I really enjoyed this new experience. Our next stop was Blowing Rock, North Carolina where we were able to see the changing of the leaves and beautiful fall colors at their peak. I sure have missed this since leaving Philadelphia. We then went on to Chicago where my husband attended an Ophthalmology meeting. While he was working, I was able to tour the city with another very good friend. It was fantastic to experience the excitement of a big city again. After spending several days in Chicago, we then went to Scottsdale, Arizona where we did a lot of hiking, played golf and watched more baseball playoffs.
While I’m gallivanting around the country, my producer Hal Batt, has been completing my Spanish album. We are three songs away from finishing the project. At this point, my job is to listen to the songs and try to put them in the order that works best for the CD. Smile is still being added to radio stations around the country. We are still exploring other performance venues for the upcoming season. We are gearing up for the holidays and I’m looking forward to my Christmas show at Bertofino’s on December 11th.
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and look forward to sharing more with you next month.
Lots of Smiles,
Sylvia
