It has been an amazing time for me between releasing Smile and recording my next album. I am happy to inform you that Smile has been on the JazzWeek World Music Albums Charts for 11 weeks!
I have been going to the recording studio since December and, last month, I finished recording the last song on the Spanish album. It has been the most challenging and exciting recording project to date. It will not be completed for a while as many things need to happen before it goes into production. For one, Hal Batt, my producer, will finish mastering each of the songs and we’ll have to choose the order in which they will appear on the CD.
Since my last day at the studio, my husband Hal and I took a short trip to North Carolina to visit dear friends and prepared to go on our long trip to Carmel. This year, I have a few more singing engagements out in the West Coast. I will be performing at a private event the first week in August and then I will be at Bistro 211 on the 18th to celebrate the West Coast release of Smile.
In between performances, Hal and I will be enjoying the sights and sounds of Carmel. We will then begin our serious traveling with stops in Newport Beach, Chicago, Arizona, Hawaii and a road trip between Washington D.C. and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This will be the time that my husband and I can have that much needed one-on-one time.
I look forward to sharing more of our travel adventures during the fall and now I leave you with one of the video clips that we were so busy shooting back in April and May.
