How did it become July already? I have been so busy in the studio, doing performances and video editing that time has just slipped by.
I finished my 2009-2010 performance season with the First Anniversary celebration of The Women of the Roundtable. They are a sisterhood of Love, Honor and Connection and the way they encourage each other is truly remarkable. I was so honored to be part of this event. We also worked long hours on a few videos for Smile (and a few other goodies) which you will be able to see up on YouTube in the upcoming weeks. Finally, it is bittersweet that I have completed my eleventh song for my Spanish CD. I have one more song to record to complete the project. As much as I enjoy releasing a new CD, I also enjoy the process of choosing the songs and being in the studio. Bringing this one to an end definitely makes me wistful.
Last month I was excited to share with you that Smile had reached #24 on the Jazzweek World Music Charts. I am happy to inform you that 7 weeks into it we have peaked at #22! I thank you all for your support and, if you haven’t heard any of my songs on your favorite radio station, send me their call letters and I will be happy to submit a copy of Smile to them.
One of my biggest joys, during our video editing projects, was to do a special rendition of the National Anthem to honor America and the men and women that serve our country. I leave you now with this video clip (if you are unable to see it, please click here).
Happy 4th of July!
Lots of Smiles,
Sylvia
