I am happy to report that I have finished my vocals for my next CD project. I don’t want to spoil the surprise by giving away too much now because I am very excited about the upcoming release date of October 4th for my Spanish album Sonrie. As my producer Hal Batt says, “The music is timeless romantic ballads, bossas and boleros, but in a different style all its own.” It includes classic Spanish songs like Besame Mucho, Quien Sera, Perfidia, El Reloj and Sabor a Mi.
I am most proud of one of the original songs on the CD because it is one that I wrote for my wonderful husband, Hal (the other Hal in my life) with the help of my producer and a very
well known Spanish songwriter, Jorge Chacin. Por Ti started off as a melody in my head and became a love song for my husband. I not only wanted him to know how much he means to me but I also wanted everyone else to know as well.
We are very busy this month concentrating all our efforts into getting everything ready for radio airplay and reviews. I am very happy that I have Janet here to take care of all the details while I take off once again for our summer and fall travel. This year, we start off in Paris followed by Iceland, a safari and a visit to Cape Town in South Africa. I’m looking forward to a great adventure. I will keep you posted.
Wishing you a Happy Fourth of July and a great rest of the summer.
Lots of Smiles,
Sylvia
